THE DIRTIER THE WHINE, THE SWEETER THE JUICE!?

Friday, December 15, 2017 - Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, NY - Young MG Louis VIV, aka KingSaySay, Bedford-Stuyvesant born artist, rapper and emcee released his first official single record titled, "Dirty Whine" on iTunes, Apple Music, Google Play, Amazon Music and Spotify. This Dancehall inspired Hip Hop track features local artist Anna Awe on the hook and S.C.R.D.'s Ravin Dave on composition and production.

The topic of this record, one considered highly sensitive, misogynistic and sexist by some listeners, is actually a dichotic reflection of the current environment. One the artist is living himself. Perhaps a case of greater good versus lesser evil, or rather just plain ego. Regardless, the sonic composition, lyrics and subject matter seem to divide audiences stuck on the fence of robbing peter in order to pay paul.

Young MG - Dirty Whine (Ft. Anna Awe) [Prod. by Ravin Dave]

Young MG, one of Brooklyn's many eighties baby's on the cusp of the 90's was born into Hip Hop music's golden years, which explains his study, articulation and knowledge of the genre. And his story, not unlike some of those who preceded him may sound familiar. At the young age of twelve, Young MG and his brother were forced out on the streets. The last decade and a half have been a struggle with far and few opportunities to follow his dreams, share a story or stay out of trouble.

Debut performance of Hard Days Cold Nights by Young MG during The NYLON Project Launch event for New York Fashion Week 2017, in order to raise awareness about homelessness in New York City.

In early February, 2017, Young MG secured a live performance spot in an upscale fundraiser, for The Nylon Project, who intention is to help bring awareness to homelessness. A press article on the event and cause written by, Hilary George-Parkin, of racked.com caught up with Young MG following his performance and shared this:

Young MG’s struggles aren’t quite behind him yet; I talk to him at the end of the night, after the last performer has packed up and the DJ is entreating the dwindling crowd to dance to a steady stream of Chris Brown and Bruno Mars. He wears a yellow hoodie and sweatpants and a backwards Yankees fitted. “I pulled up to show some love for the homeless people, because I too went through the homelessness and I'm still facing it,” he says.

I have felonies, I'm a project kid, I've lived a hard life,” he explains, about three inches from my ear so I can hear over the music. “It's not my fault, it's the cards that I was dealt. But if you don't have a job, then it's hard to take care of yourself, to provide, to live your dreams. Everything costs money, and nobody's going to give it to you. You have to pay to get your way up, and then people will help you up.”

At some point, I realize it’s the first story of homelessness I’ve heard all night. A minute later, though, he’s moved on. “Look me up on Facebook,” he says, and when I do, I see a few dozen photos and videos from the night — selfies, videos, shot after shot of Milian, and the requisite red carpet photos, though this time, without a cardboard sign in sight.

Since then, Young MG has been hard at work in the studio writing, rehearsing and performing a combination of new material, freestyles and remixes. In 2016, Young MG linked with S.C.R.D., the production crew out of Gramercy Park, in Manhattan, currently signed under Trip Digital, Inc. The unlikely combination took months to build trust and loyalty, and then eventually net out in original beats, compositions and songs that stemmed from the combination of different worlds, and walks of life.

Bedstuy Rapper Young MG Louis XIV got the public's attention with this Jay-Z, PSA Remix. Look out for Young MG's first official single release called "Dirty Whine" (Ft. Anna Awe) [Prod. by Ravin Dave] dropping this December, 2017.

Bed-Stuy, has been made known most notably in music, specifically Hip Hop, over the past quarter century by Biggie (The Notorious BIG), along with the likes of Jay-Z (Marcy Projects), Fabolous (Brevoort Houses) Mos Def (Lafayette Gardens) Maino (Nostrand and Gates), Smif-n-Wessun (Brownsville Houses), Lil Kim (Lafayette Ave), and many others. More recently, Bed-Stuy is one of Brooklyn's fastest, "up-and-coming" neighborhoods, falling victim to the gentrifying sweep of ridding the old, and paving the way for the new.

“Take these hard times as lessons and keep going”

Mame - Hope

TOKYO, JAPAN - On Friday, August 11, 2017 - Japanese rapper and songwriter Mame officially releases “HOPE” as a short film and audio single, under Flourish$Prosper with distribution through Empi.re. HOPE is available across download outlets including iTunesGoogle Play and Amazon, and streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music and Tidal. Available via pre-order on August 4, 2017.

Born in 1990, and at the age of twenty, Mame left Japan in order to pursue his dream and went to study at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. During that time his father became ill. Upon the worsening of his father’s condition, Mame returned home to help take care of him and his family.

“Life was in extremes, up and down when I was pursuing a career as a fashion designer. I was emotionally fucked up, living alone, and trying to reach where I thought I wanted to go.  Life wasn't easy, then I turned back to my country because of my father's illness. At that moment, I definitely hit the rock bottom leaving everything in New York, I had to start a new life. That was hard, and by taking the hard times as lessons, I kept going. That's how I felt when I could be on next level.
The experience made me realize my true passion and deeper dream in music and entertainment. Since then, I have transitioned from fashion designer to artist and have been working on lyrics and production, combining Tokyo flows with New York sounds in collaboration with super producer Dj Journey / Trip Digital Inc. Hope is the first song and music video of my struggles, and is what helped get me through them to now."

Kris Payne - W.O.P is the first studio single of a series, in collaboration with Trip Digital founder Dj Journey and executive production duo Sweet Chuck Ravin Dave (S.C.R.D.). The club and car bumping single features a catchy vocal hook, sax lick and beat produced by Anthony “Tone T1” Fenner. Arranged into four verses of heat, the first of which will arguably rival a young Busta Rhymes or Twista, all three versions (Clean, Explicit and Instrumental) give djs and remixers all the the tools needed to slice, dice or sample this hot summer jam.

Kris Payne is not your average rapper. His flow and lyrics will take you back in time, while his smooth, raw vocal delivery is poetic and wistfully visual. Kris often draws comparisons to the likes of the Notorious BIG, LL Cool J and Dr. Dre, which considering his childhood upbringing, and being a Leo with the same birthday as Chuck D and Professor Griff, may be an indication. Payne grew up in Brooklyn, and then moved out to Baldwin, Long Island for high school.

Kris worked his way into regular rotation on BET’s 106 & Park and then found himself in a cipher with Run DMC. Payne drew the attention of Public Enemy’s Chuck D and The Bomb Squad super producer Keith Shocklee, both local Roosevelt, Long Island natives. Kris invested the past five years into building trust, which led to his mentorship from Hip Hop legends and eventually projects with Common and Rakim. Most importantly, Kris made the transition from playground battle rapper to recording artist now is now poised to set the stage on fire.

The NYLON Project & Aspiring Artists

Through adversity and struggle, while growing up young in the streets of Brooklyn, YOUNG MG, has developed the raw charisma, character and fortitude to survive. He has also become what's known in Hip Hop culture as the ever elusive "wordsmith," one who is a verbal poet, and know's it. But these days in the city who birthed the original art and culture, the sound is hard to find. Fortunately, meet YOUNG MG, one of few local and talented artists, on verge of bringing the "true" New York Hip Hop sound back.

“I’m a Brooklyn kid that got kicked out at a young age, forced to take on the streets for survival. My mother put me out at the age of twelve to face a hard life. I tried to go from home to home to escape a life of poverty. Just trying to come up, through the streets, I’ve been to jail, homeless, sleeping on trains and subways. I know have a bright future, with better things coming my way. I’m on the verge of making it really big. #itcanbeyou

“As an artist, I understand sacrifice, passion and commitment to the arts and commerce. In my short eight years living in New York City, I’ve also come to understand being evicted, sued, frisked, fined, fired and kicked-out. But that's really nothing compared to what many artist before or during my time endured. Therefore my overstanding not through living, is just an understanding, which can only be told through the stories of those who came before me and whom I am currently living among. Just like living in New York City, nothing ever is, what it really is, until you have lived it, and actually been there in it. In the end, I just make make music, and like to help others do the same. The summer block party led to a collaboration, and then we recorded the first record. #itcanbeyou"

The initial goal of this project is to give out 1,500 meals starting on December 1st, 2016 up until February 7th, 2017. These brands will dress the celebrity as well as gift the homeless the ensemble so that they can use it once event is over, to go on a job interview and get off the streets.

SOUL FREQUENCY

Presented by Keith Shocklee and Dj Journey powered by Spectrum City

Soul Frequency (Ravin Dave's bday)

In the fall of 2015, a management change at one of New York City’s most exclusive private member’s club resulted in a new perspective on how to reinvigorate an empty space through building an “alternate” vibe in order to freshen up the environment.

SOUL FREQUENCY, a monthly party presented by the legendary Keith Shocklee (aka. Wizard Kjee) of Public Enemy, The Bomb Squad and Spectrum City; along with Super producer Dj Journey, founder of Trip Digital Inc., and a well-known DJ across the LA and NYC circuit; the duo were invited to rebuild the room with a monthly residency. The party launched last November and is now becoming an industry and newbie playground for intermingling between members, guests and artists.

In other words, a very well know establishment was looking for a change. Think, “Stella got her groove back” or rather, looking to get her groove back, and turned to one of New York City’s own cultural contribution – Hip Hop.

soulfreq-combined.jpg

The concept was to begin building a unique, intimate, fun and inclusive party that brought plenty of groove, vibe and old skool classic tracks in an upbeat, contemporary and cutting edge way.

The goal is to create a fun, warm and inclusive monthly party that can be used to introduce, integrate and infuse aspects of live performance with the old skool vibe in order to create a fun party for emerging talent to perform and be discovered.

“Phone Sext" - Better than the real thing? A full sonic exploration!

Gramercy, New York City, NY (December 08, 2015) - S.C.R.D. (Sweet Chuck Ravin Dave) officially release their third studio single, titled “Phone Sext” on iTunes, Google Play, Spotify and over 20+ digital, global retailers and in CD format via Amazon. Phone Sext is the musical, storytelling duo’s third record release on indie record label Trip Digital Inc., and includes three versions (Explicit, Radio, Instrumental).

S.C.R.D. explains that “Phone Sext” is the third chapter of the story following heartbreak in L.A. and dating in New York City, and that it’s “about the tension that we all feel between in our progressive digital world, that stretches between fantasy and ideal and bridges into our reality. In the end, nothing beats the real thing. And this is a truth that stretches deep into the groove and vibe of the whole record, on which we feature an all-star cast of amazing, local, New York City based musicians.”

Most notably is the very talented, tall, dark and handsome (4+ octave) UK singer and songwriter, Mr Wright.  While visiting New York City back in May, Jason Anthoney Wright was introduced to S.C.R.D. while the duo was in the middle of recording their first single record, “Someday.” After a quick meeting, an intense listening session, smiles and handshakes, the trio reconvened a day later and fleshed out the concept, composition and then recorded the chorus and instrumental.

S.C.R.D. enlisted the multi-talented Jazz and Soul musician, Benny Harrison to deliver a daft and moving piano performance as well as support on the background vocals and then persuaded the most talented American Jazz Bassist, James Genus, whose performance nailed the bass line giving this record it’s groove.  No stopping there! The sexual sensuality of Marissa Licata’s violin dramatically dances delicately back and forth between the vocal melodies of Mr. Wright and the intentions of Sweet Chuck, playing the female antagonist’s voice.

The orchestration of the instrumental is the perfect contrast to the functional and blunt lyrical verses led by Sweet Chuck and backed by Dj Journey. This instructional guide takes us on a sexy journey through fantasy up to a surprise twist at the end.

The combination of both the instrumentation and lyrical versing makes this record highly visual and easily understood by a wide range audience, but most specifically 16-24 millennials. S.C.R.D. plans to target college markets via radio and blogs as well as key Spring Break markets via DJ spins at nightclubs and events. For promotion requests, materials or bookings please contact S.C.R.D.
