Mosh Pit

All Major Streaming Platforms

Mosh Pit is a song about identifying challenges and differences between individuals and their situations. The only remedy is the circle, the cipher aka the mosh pit, where problems are debated and solved.

While originally written and recorded between 2016-2018, we waited until the landscape was ripe and the context made sense for a record like this. This record is actually the third of a four record series that culminates next month but began on November 3 2016 with “Breaking News”, our first "‘political’ record, although written at the time from an independent, large picture perspective.

The second record of the series was “Art Bless America” which when written (2016) and released (2019) stood as a reminder of America’s greatness to an outsider. The video (2020), however, shifts lenses drawing a clear distinction between racism, oppression, resistance, and tyranny as captured through live footage over the spring and summer. Notwithstanding our original intent, this body of works was written before its time, in order to reflect these times.

Mosh Pit which was also written in the past, for the future, could not be published without comment on the current cultural context into which it would be released. As a group, we clearly stand against racism. For our promotion video, we decided to make that point clear. For the lyric video, we decided to let the lyrics speak for themselves.

Artist production duo, Sweet Chuck Ravin Dave writes, produces, and performs music, videos, and content under Trip Digital Music, and independent record label based in NYC/LA. The two met in Gramercy, New York City during the fall of 2013, and by 2014 began writing and recording at their 19th street studio along with Super Producer DJ Journey. S.C.R.D. is named after Sweet Chuck and Ravin Dave, the two principal members of the group. Together they infuse old skool beats, live instrumentation, and witty, humorous, and slightly satirically lewd lyrics to take fans on a journey through heartbreaks with an ebullience for life and the thirst for adventure. Their collaboration between each other thrives off co-collaborating with local musicians, friends, and fans they lure into their musical tsunami, which helps drive their artistic creativity to new heights.

Art Bless America (Freedom is a Privilege)

“I wasn’t afraid to try. I wasn’t afraid to die. Gave it all I got, and I’m still trying.”

Just a snippet of lyrics from a song written by Journey Will Jackson (DJ Journey) and performed by S.C.R.D. to highlight the American mentality. (The chorus).

“It’s our time to get it right. Make love not war, alright. Don’t wait until the last minute, do it while you’re living. Because freedom is a privilege.”

From the outside looking in, our country is one the world looks to as a perfect model. Men and women have built fortunes for themselves. Apple, Google, Amazon, Microsoft, and Facebook, are all trillion-dollar companies. This is what our friends around the world call the “American Dream.”

Yet, the skeletons of racism fall out of our closet every now and then. A police beating here and a biased comment there. Sweep it under the rug real quick to protect the image. I think everyone knows our past in America, but it doesn’t matter because so much greatness has come from this country. It doesn’t really matter until it matters. Now the world hears the echoes of “BLACK LIVES MATTER!”

And our friends in London say “Hell yeah, they matter! Because you gave us Hip Hop!” “Art Bless America” symbolizes the culture in America that the world respects.

“The only free nation built on creation focused on transformation for the young minds can be equal. In other words, we do this for the people.”

“Art Bless America” was written in 2015 for 2020. Our country’s greatness has outgrown its ugly past.

The world is watching America fight for something they thought we already had, equality. They are waiting on the sidelines to show us how inspirational we have been to them, and they are ready to help us create an America that can truly be great. Art will continue to bless America and eliminate hatred once and for all. Art Bless America by S.C.R.D is available on all streaming platforms.

“Take these hard times as lessons and keep going”

Mame - Hope

TOKYO, JAPAN - On Friday, August 11, 2017 - Japanese rapper and songwriter Mame officially releases “HOPE” as a short film and audio single, under Flourish$Prosper with distribution through Empi.re. HOPE is available across download outlets including iTunesGoogle Play and Amazon, and streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music and Tidal. Available via pre-order on August 4, 2017.

Born in 1990, and at the age of twenty, Mame left Japan in order to pursue his dream and went to study at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. During that time his father became ill. Upon the worsening of his father’s condition, Mame returned home to help take care of him and his family.

“Life was in extremes, up and down when I was pursuing a career as a fashion designer. I was emotionally fucked up, living alone, and trying to reach where I thought I wanted to go.  Life wasn't easy, then I turned back to my country because of my father's illness. At that moment, I definitely hit the rock bottom leaving everything in New York, I had to start a new life. That was hard, and by taking the hard times as lessons, I kept going. That's how I felt when I could be on next level.
The experience made me realize my true passion and deeper dream in music and entertainment. Since then, I have transitioned from fashion designer to artist and have been working on lyrics and production, combining Tokyo flows with New York sounds in collaboration with super producer Dj Journey / Trip Digital Inc. Hope is the first song and music video of my struggles, and is what helped get me through them to now."

S.C.R.D. Teams up with Hip Video Promo

NYC’s very own S.C.R.D., whose old school rock star vibe and fresh new hip hop beats have been hailed as a mashup of unlikely styles that delivers a deliciously guilty pleasure worthy of heavy indulgence. They say what you wanted to say, but never did. And they execute the recording in a smooth and sophisticated way that seductively lures viewers into a catchy, irreverent fun hook, that is neither Petula Clark nor Macklemore & Ryan Lewis to the faintest bit. In fact, S.C.R.D. delivers a whole new sound with this record.

S.C.R.D. is named after Sweet Chuck and Ravin Dave, the two principal members of the group based in Gramercy, Manhattan. Together they infuse old skool beats, live instrumentation and witty, humorous and slightly satirically lude lyrics to take fans on a journey through heartbreaks with an ebullience for life and the thirst for adventure. Their collaboration between each other, thrives off co-collaborating with local musicians, friends and fans they lure into their musical tsunami, which helps drive their artistic creativity to new heights.

On their newest single “Downtown,” they once again teamed up with the “Mermaid,” world renowned violinist, Marissa Licata to craft an exquisite tale of temptation, dedication, and pure, unabashed urban fun and frolic through her violin’s voicing. Locking in the groove, this dynamic duo tapped Eddy Eyeball the former bassist of the 2 Skinnee J’s along with the vocals of a young, talented singer/songwriter named EMCity.

For the “Downtown” video, Sweet Chuck and Ravin Dave examine that fragile balance between the daily grind of work life, social obligations and the difficulties of finding time for personal relationships. The video begins with superstar NYC producer Journey dropping by to try to get Chuck to the studio, but he’s preoccupied and heading downtown. Then life begins to imitate art, and art blurs life, the nights get longer, and the stakes get higher. When heading “Downtown,” sometimes the night doesn’t end, when the day begins.

We are thrilled to be working with S.C.R.D.! Please get in touch with us here at HIP Video Promo if you would like more info… You can call (732)-613-1779 or email us at info@HIPVideoPromo.com . You can also visit http://www.SCRDnyc.com or http://www.TripleDigitalInc.com for more info.
