"Been There, Done That!"

NEW YORK, NEW YORK - On Friday, September 15, 2017 - Native rapper and songwriter Dev (Brooklyn) and teammate Nick Hews (Brooklyn/Venice) officially released the record titled “Done That Feat. Dj Journey)”, under Flourish$Prosper with distribution through Empi.re across download outlets including iTunes, as well as streaming platforms including Spotify and Apple Music.

Dev & Nick Hews - Done That (Feat. Dj Journey) is the first studio single of a series, in collaboration with production partner Trip Digital, founder Dj Journey and executive production duo S.C.R.D.. The melodic, uptempo, New York style beat lends itself well to the writing and flow of New York’s own Dev, who delivers a sharp message pointed at all the people who don’t believe in the grind. Specifically he’s taking shots at the naysayers along the way who try to play you but then want to jump on the bandwagon when you’re hot. Pulling from life experiences, Dev works security at a high-end luxury hotel and nightclub in the off hours between work on a solo album and a collaborative project with writing partner Nick Hews.

While currently in Venice, California, Nick Hews met Dev in New York when both artists were living in Brooklyn, back in 2013. A year later they began writing together and the following year they finalized Done That, in Lounge Studios with a recording on March 15, 2015 under engineer Joseph Angol. From then till now Nick Hews moved out to Los Angeles and then Kuwait, before settling in Venice. Working bicoastal, the future Dev and Hews worked with Mikaelin ‘Blue’ BlueSpruce (Solange) to mix and master the first collaborative release, with future solo and collaborative records coming down the pipes in 2018.

Trip Digital Radio - Sound, Art, Expression (Weekly Mix Show)

Los Angeles, California - Trip Digital Radio is now officially 2 hours long each week. Reaching over 85,000 active listeners via Native Rhymes station on DashRadio.com. Local Los Angeles and New York City listeners are so engaged in the platform and show, that over 50% of the weekly show listeners, are tuned-in for an average of 30-60 mins every show.

If you think about it and break down the numbers, that's well over 1,000,000 hours of music listened to over the year. For an independent start-up label, that's not bad reach to start.

The weekly show is hosted and produced by Trip Digital Inc., founder Dj Journey. Along with Seattle born and currently New York based DJ Dcoded, the two tag-team weekly sets and segments that primarily feature new independent and upcoming artists, mixed in along with already made artists across generations and genres.

The show is rooted in Hip Hop, and because of Hip Hop's roots, Dj Journey and Dj Dcoded delightfully dance across grooves, "keeping it moving" and devoting nearly 80% of the show spins to the Campfire Crew, a team of east coast, west coast and worldwide artists that collaborate with Trip Digital.

Tune-in each week by logging on to DashRadio.com / or download via iTunes App Store or the Google Play Android Store and listening to Native Rhymes station every Wednesday from 7:00 - 9:00 PM PST / 10:00 PM - 12:00 AM EST.

Spotlight: S.C.R.D.'s "Phone Sext"

Shuffle Beat Music - Summer Hartley

"The intro, which can be a recognizable sound to anyone who has "done the deed" via phone call, draws you into the whole story S.C.R.D. and their talented group are about to take you on. Lyrically, "Phone Sext" is pretty much what to say during one of these steamy moments with your boo-thang, as it fully goes through someone's experience with phone sexting (even the "race to the finish" moment as your phone dies but you haven't reached that finish line, if you get what I'm saying). The college-age demographic for these guys, though, will know exactly what I'm talking about, as this is practically the epitome of what "phone sexting" is about, which makes the song lewd and real, but in an entirely good way.

Not only do the lyrics take you on a journey, but musically, the song gives a beat resembling that of "let's do the nasty" music that you may play or just hear in your head (or those R-rated romance movies with the oddly placed sex scene between your two protagonists. The delivered bass line from Genus meshes well with Harrison's piano (which you can hear really well in the instrumental) to give that feel good vibe behind the beat. And although I was skeptical of it at first, the violin delivered from Licata, which can also be heard better in the instrumental, blends in perfectly with the track to give a whole new layer to that dip of music.

Oddly enough, I see myself listening to "Phone Sext" again in the future, even if it's not my typical taste of music. Is it for the phone sexting tips/how-to? Is it for the sexy music that makes me just wanna vibe? Is it for the sultry vocals?

Well that's only for me to know."
